Retiring? Don’t lose your CEA member benefits Are you retiring this year? Join thousands of retired Connecticut teachers who continue to receive CEA and NEA member benefits, including discounts on shopping, travel, services, and more. Unified Lifetime Retired membership is a one-time payment of $500 (CEA $250 and NEA $250). If you prefer a Unified Annual Membership, dues are $60 a year (CEA $25 and NEA $35). Retired teachers shared their expertise with members of the CEA Student Program (CEASP) before the NEA-RA in Minneapolis. CEA- Retired members, who were there for the NEA-Retired Annual Meeting, shared their experiences with state and chapter leaders from the CEA Student Program, as well as

former leaders from Quinnipiac University, who were attending the NEA Student Leadership Conference. This is the sixth straight year that CEA-Retired members have planned a dinner meeting with members of CEASP to discuss upcoming projects to benefit students and help future

teachers become better educators. “It’s a great opportunity for retired teachers to share their lifelong classroom experiences and knowledge with future educators,” said CEA-Retired President and CEASP Board Liaison Gloria Brown. “The students have many questions for us, and we are all happy to help

these future teachers prepare for when they have their own classrooms.” The two groups have collaborated on numerous projects to help children across the state, including collecting books for children in underfunded districts.

Preparing for the Future: It’s Not Just About Wills! Probate Judge Matt Jalowiec will discuss services provided by the probate court (it’s more than wills), and Attorney Dan Tully will explain how to protect your home and assets from the cost of long-term care.
