2018 NEA RA CANDIDATES AND ELECTED DELEGATES The CEA Elections Committee met in December to review nominations received for the 2018 state delegate election to the NEA Representative Assembly (RA).

Membership Units B, C, D, E, I, J, M, O, At-Large, and Ethnic Minority At- Large are listed below. All positions are two-year terms except for Category 1 At-Large and Category 1 Ethnic Minority At-Large, which are one-year interim terms. Photographs and statements of the candidates and those declared elected as state delegates to the NEA RA are printed below as received.

Elections will take place for Category 1 Membership Units G and K. All uncontested NEA RA state unit delegate candidates were declared elected by the CEA Elections Committee at its January 2018 meeting. Those elected as state delegates to the NEA RA from Category 1

1. Annie Irvine I would like to continue attending the NEA-RA while encouraging others, including new teachers and teachers of color, to participate in our union’s democratic process.

1. Ali Kirchberger It is with great passion and enthusiasm that I submit my name as a candidate for NEA RA delegate. I have attended CEA RA 5 years as a delegate and NEA RA 2 years as a delegate. 2. Sara Lestage I have attended the NEA RA for the past two years, and have enjoyed every minute of the work that we as a delegation have accomplished.

Faith Sweeney I would like to be a delegate to the NEA/RA 2018. I think it’s important to advocate for teachers at all levels, including the national level too. Thank you for your support!

John Czepiel I would be honored to represent Unit M teachers again at the NEA RA. I have been a diligent and engaged delegate to 25 NEA RA’s. Thank you for your support.

Nicola Able I have attended the NEA RA since 2010. I am proud to have represented my district and the state. I ask for your vote to continue that work.

Catherine Lunnie Served on CEA New Business Committee & Resolutions at NEA RA. Currently serving CEA PAC & CEA Legislative Commission. Wish to keep fighting for teachers & public education.

Unit D

Category 1 At-Large

Mia Dimbo I’m seeking your votes to represent you at the NEA/RA.I currently serve as CEA’s EMAC Director. I’m a member of CEA’s Bd of Directors, HCR and EMAC Commissions. Please vote for me.

Marjorie Klar I am an experienced RA delegate and would be honored to continue representing the teachers of Connecticut.

Kim Patella CT- I would be honored to serve as the 2018 CEA Delegate for the NEA/RA.

Stephanie Wanzer I am a special education teacher, current Secretary of the CEA, President for the CESEA, and I am running for re- election as an NEA RA State Delegate. I ask you for your support!
