MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR CEA MEMBERSHIP? Tap into all the benefits your card has to offer Darien teacher and CEA Vice President Joslyn DeLancey (pictured, far right) shares her home with Nash, a rescue pup, and has saved hundreds of dollars through NEA Member Benefits pet insurance. “I lost my last dog to cancer after spending thousands on treatment and care,” she recalls. “When I got Nash, I knew I wanted insurance, as I’d do and spend just about anything to help my fur babies. I looked at multiple companies for insurance, and most were up around $70 a month for just accident insurance, with a large deductible and not a high percentage paid back. I was able to find an amazing rate through NEA Member Benefits at neamb.com. For less than $50 a month, I have illness and accident insurance, with coverage for 90 % of all costs—including cancer care.” Norwich language arts teacher and CEA Member Benefits Committee member Brian Valente (pictured at right) has brought home significant savings too—literally. “When I needed a new washer and dryer, I looked at what I could save through my CEA membership,” Valente says. “It turns out I saved $300! That’s just one of the many perks of being a member.” As a CEA member, you have access to deep discounts and special offers on everything from appliances to zen yoga. Members have saved hundreds of dollars on their home and auto policies through CEA-endorsed USI Insurance, thousands on cars, home renovations, and other big- ticket purchases through CEA’s Buyers Edge program, and much more on everyday purchases at BJ’s, DreamDinners, The Bushnell, TankFarm, and more. Some of our newest offerings include • Free Sweaty Saturdays virtual classes at Joyful Fitness for the month of March, plus 20 % off all group classes and 15 % off personal training • Free tickets to Teacher Appreciation Day at Bridgeport Islanders hockey on April 3 • Teacher Appreciation Week at the New York Yankees, with a discounted package that includes seats, a free tote bag, and a meal at select games May 6-11 • 20 % off any service at Copper Beech Institute, a leader in meditation and mindfulness (payment is on a sliding scale, and CEA members receive an additional discount)
